A couple more dotty bowls

I've had a busy couple of weeks with family celebrations, students' work to mark and lots to plant in the greenhouse. It hasn't left me much time for felt-making, but in the evenings I have made lots of little dots...

Today I had a spare afternoon, so I've finally had a chance to make use of the dots and make a couple more felt bowls. I made one with black wool, in which the dots are quite subtle,

...and one in white wool which creates a very different effect. The pattern stands out far more than it does against the black, as you can see:

I like them both, but I think I prefer the white version. I'd love to know what you think of them, too. If you fancy one for yourself, pop over here!

  1. Mmm, both lovely but in very different ways! I slightly prefer the fresh white one with its cleanly contrasting dots, but on the darker one they're more blended in which is interesting too.

  2. Another 2 lovely bowls, Liz. I like the white one a little more, probably because the colours are clearer. I prefer this one to your last one; the dots are in colours that I love and would choose myself. I hope they sell as quickly as your last one!

  3. They look gorgeous! I like the white because I like bright colours, but the black looks really effective too, being more subtle.

  4. OOh Liz they are really lovely, I'm instantly drawn to the white one with it brightness, but the black one reminds me of Monet's lily pads...perhaps you could do a dark blue background...?
Such simplicity in the idea produces great results, via the elbow grease!
    Keep up the fuzzy dots!!

  5. Hi Liz

Your bowls are beautiful, both of them, but if I had to pick it would be the white one. The contrasts in the colours are lovely and it looks so delicate.
