A New Garden Space

I'm spending a lot of my time outside at the moment. We're continuing to work on our allotment and four raised beds are now weed-free and planted with peas, beans, courgettes and onions. It's been hard work! Meanwhile, back at home we've had some work done to transform a previously unused space next to the greenhouse into a little patio and growing area. This is how it looked last week...

...and here it is now,

I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. Although our garden's fairly small,  dividing it up and creating distinct little areas makes it feel much bigger. We've enclosed this bit with a fence, so now I can grow salads and annuals to my heart's content without the chickens eating them up as soon as my back's turned...if only a fence worked for slugs, too!

This afternoon I'm going to spend a bit of time making something felty. If the sun shines I'll be able to work on my new patio, but the clouds suggest I may be in the kitchen.
Anyway, I'll show you the results tomorrow.

  2. What a wonderful transformation Liz, I love all the artistic details...right down to the magazine on the table! The mosaic and fancy trowel are fab too! Know what you mean about slugs..they invade every space and seem to evade all attempts at diversions! Mind you caterpillars were our tomato plant's downfall last year....
You sound like you have toiled hard on the allotment...hope its a good growing season and you have lots of time to enjoy the fruits of your labour!
