Combining wet and needle felting methods

Last night I spend a happy couple of hours making some Christmas cards (of the woolly variety, of course). I've just bought a daylight bulb for my craft desk, and I must say it makes evening craft projects far easier!

I actually wrote a very quick blog post, too, but this morning I deleted it as I now have some better photos to show you. I'm at home today, marking a huge pile of work: I really don't like this part of the job, but at least it gives me a chance to work at home and to grab a few moments for crafty pursuits!

I started the cards by wet felting some little woolly panels, some in white, and some in festive reds and greens. I haven't done any wet felting for a while and it is so much fun - I love building up the colours and adding little extras for texture,

When the panels were dry I grabbed my felting needle and added some more details. This one has a little white tree standing against a red and green background,

...whilst some have needle felted snowflakes.

I'm using my alphabet stamps, too - they were such a good buy! I use them in all sorts of projects, some of which you can read about here and here.

My aim is to make cards for all my nearest and dearest this year. We shall see if it actually happens! In the meantime, you can find the first of these cards in my new-look Folksy shop - where there are a few little glitches at the moment that will hopefully be sorted very soon.

Right, off to face that pile of marking...
